Advent Reflection Leads to Christmas Cards for the Homeless
Knights, dames, candidates and applicants, along with their spouses, children and grandchildren, gathered at the St. Mary Mother of the Church parish hall in Lafayette, Louisiana on December 13 for an Advent Morning of Reflection. The Rev. Brian Harrington, a regional chaplain, delivered a beautiful reflection on Matthew 25 and encouraged all present to be focused on our lords the poor and sick during Advent and Christmas.
Following Father Harrington’s remarks, candidates Kim Boudreaux and Sarah Clement, both from Catholic Charities of Acadiana, explained that many of their “clients” (the homeless) go without seeing any family or receiving even Christmas cards during Advent and Christmas. Then, children, parents and grandparents set to work creating personalized, handmade Christmas cards to be delivered to the clients before Christmas. The Lafayette Region continues to be blessed through its relationship with Catholic Charities of Acadiana and the invitation to the region to serve their clients. Tuitio fidei et obsequium pauperum.
The Lafayette Region members, candidates and applicants wish you all a Happy Advent and a very Merry Christmas!
