Formation Weekend for the Class of 2027

On the weekend of June 12th, the Federal Association held its annual Formation Weekend for the Candidates in the Class of 2027. This year, the weekend was held at St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, MD.

The weekend was full of informative and spiritual topics, coordinated with organizational leadership from the Federal Association's Formation Chair, Monica Young, DM and Executive Office Program Coordinator, Mira Bisesi. Talks and presentations began on Friday afternoon and were joined by officers Ernie Bono, GCMOb, President, Chuck Cornelio, KMOb, Secretary General, Jane Lanier, DM, Hospitaller, and George Gunning, KM, Treasurer.

The candidates also heard from additional guest presenters including H.E. Ambassador Peter McGuire, GCMOb, Regent to the Subpriory of Our Lady of Lourdes, H.E. Ambassador Paul Beresford-Hill, CBE, KMOb, Permanent Observer of the Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, H.E. Ambassador Michèle Bowe, GCM, President of the Holy Family Hospital Foundation, Fra' Tom Mulligan, Sovereign Council Member, Rev. Msgr. James Watkins, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem, and Fr. Richard Mullins, Conventual Chaplain ad honorem.

Speakers focused on topics that are important to all Federal Association Members, such as Prison Ministry, the Lourdes Pilgrimage, Spirituality, the Defense of the Faith, the Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Champion, the Order of Malta International Camp, the history of the Order of Malta, and how the Order of Malta is active around the world.
