Atlanta Supports Pregnancy Aid Clinic

On February 29, the Atlanta Region hosted its annual Life is Beautiful event, benefiting Pregnancy Aid Clinic (PAC) in Atlanta. For nearly 15 years, the Atlanta Region has hosted events for PAC, raising more than $1,100,000.

Previous co-chairs, Melanie Colley, DM and Margaret Grigorian, DM, passed the baton to Jackie Bohling, DM, the regional hospitaller for Atlanta, and Kim Schulman, DM. Their host committee included Msgr. Edward Dillon (magistral chaplain), Cathi Athaide, Melanie Colley, Diane Festa, Margaret and Arthur Grigorian, Susan Jannetta, Carolyn and Neil Johnson, Tisha Maley, and Lynn Mullaney. They worked hard over the past several months preparing for the popular black tie optional Casino Night, held at Cherokee Town & Country Club in Buckhead. Approximately 135 guests enjoyed catching up with friends and trying their luck at various games, including blackjack, roulette, and craps. Laughter was heard throughout the lovely venue.

As soon as guests were situated, Atlanta Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer said a blessing and thanked the Order of Malta for supporting the important works of Pregnancy Aid Clinic. Jackie Bohling welcomed all of those in attendance, including Archbishop Hartmayer, Atlanta Auxiliary Bishop Bernard E. Shlesinger III, and members of the Pregnancy Aid Clinic. She also gave a brief explanation of the Order before Kim introduced a video highlighting the efforts of PAC.

Through the generosity of many, the Atlanta Region raised $115,000.00 for Pregnancy Aid Clinic, which will be presented to them soon. It was a fabulous night, and the Atlanta Region hopes all their friends from other regions will join them next year.
