Members in the Montgomery County region recently held a Christmas dinner for about 70 residents of the local Fisher House. The Fisher House Foundation supports a network of houses where military families can stay at no cost while loved ones are receiving treatment at Veterans Administration medical facilities.

Ed and Joe Reilly provided three turkeys for the main course, Regina Blasic contributed the homemade stuffing and Ray Pushkar brought cranberry sauce, made by his wife Alice. Peggy Sullivan and Barbara Knollman decked the walls with Christmas decorations.

The turkeys were expertly carved by Barbara Knollman, assisted by auxiliaries Marguerita Guzzi-Vincenti and Katherine Zawitkowski. The dinner was completed with homemade cookies from our very talented young volunteers, Meagan and Melina and Maura Kilner. Not a scrap was left by the end of the evening.

Their next dinner serving to start the New Year will be on January 20.
