Lancaster Celebrates Sanctity of Life

The Lancaster Region sponsored its 16th annual Sanctity of Life Mass this past October as part of its work defending the faith and promoting spirituality in the greater community.

We were honored to have two bishops for this sacred liturgy. Bishop Mark Brennan of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston was the principal celebrant and homilist. Local Bishop Timothy Senior, of the Diocese of Harrisburg, concelebrated.

Bishop Brennan extolled the virtues of crisis pregnancy and maternal health centers and asked attendees to give aid to them. Citing Isaiah 50: 4-9, “the Lord God has given me a well-trained tongue,” Bishop Brennan suggested that message is meant for all of us, that we speak truth to the world about the dignity and sanctity of every life. He asked that we be fully pro-life, whether the subject be abortion, euthanasia, sex-change confusion, or aiding the immigrant or stranger.
