HEADLINES:

Members of the Lancaster Region gathered in July at St. Mary’s Church in Lancaster to support teens participating in the annual Works of Mercy Week. This summer initiative, organized by St. Mary’s, brings together more than 100 teens from 15 parishes across the Diocese of Harrisburg for service projects throughout Lancaster County. The program emphasizes the importance of serving others and living out the Catholic faith.

Participants assist at churches, nursing homes, schools, and organizations such as Water Street Rescue Mission and Meals on Wheels. They begin each day with Mass and close each day with group meals and Eucharistic Adoration, fostering spiritual growth and community bonding.

The Lancaster Region contributed by hosting a dinner for the students, engaging in conversation about their projects and service experiences, and encouraging them in their mission. The evening highlighted the Order’s commitment to fostering faith, service, and fellowship, while helping form the next generation of Catholic leaders devoted to works of mercy.
